Efforts by Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi to have East African Legislative Assembly Member Mpuru Aburi Chased from Jubilee party and recalled from EALA may prove futile for a number of reasons.
First, Mpuru is in the in the ‘right’ side of politics now. Being in Kieleweke, the faction of jubilee that supports the president, is a great advantage to him.
In recent past, Members of Tangatanga, the faction that supports deputy president William Ruto, have been axed from various positions in parliament and some others impeached like Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu Babayo.
Those who have been in Kieleweke faction have survived, a good example being Kirinyaga governor, Ann Waiguru.
Kiraitu should learn from all these examples.
Secondly, Mpuru is more of an entertainer than an inciter. The former Tigania East MP cannot be taken seriously most of the times for what he says. He has been saying that God spoke to him and told him that Kiraitu should go and pose at the gate of Meru assembly headquarters and take a photo with his family because his regime is going to come to an end.
This is simply what gave birth to NO PEU political party, that means going without coming back in Meru language.
This means that without Kiraitu, NO PEU will lose popularity in Meru. All these are mere political gimmicks to win the attention of members of public and they are not taken seriously by most of the listeners.
However, if a lie is repeated several times, it sounds like the gospel truth.
Thirdly, Mpuru is not the only one with parties yet they are in Jubilee. A good example is KPP, a party owned by politicians who are still members of Jubilee.
Fourthly, Mpuru shifting his allegiance from Kiraitu to his opponent Peter Munya is paining the former. Thus, Kiraitu demanding for Mpuru’s ouster is understandable politically.
Fifthly, since Kiraitu wrote a letter to Jubilee secretary general Raphael Tuju accusing Mpuru of inciting Ameru along subtribe lines, Insulting him and for registering and Marketing another political party apart from Jubilee, Mpuru has changed his political lifestyle. He has been seen in Jubilee house closer to the secretary general Raphael Tuju, where he is ensuring that he is captured by Cameras.
This is meant to show Jubilee management that he is still in Jubilee and supporting the president.
He also wants to show Kiraitu that he belongs to jubilee and Jubilee belongs to him.
The greatest punishment Mpuru may get from Jubilee management is just to be summoned and warned, but sacking maybe a day dream.
